Our friendly hands-on approach, based on understanding and empathy, is in fact hardly suited to large number crunchers.
Some years ago in a presentation we stated "fproud when our customers confirm that products processed using DUMEK machines are better".
Time has passed, but this is still an extremely satisfying aspect for us.
DUMEK’s story starts when Eng. Luigi Pizzirani meets an expert chemistry professor who was working in Milan as an advisor for some well-known pharmaceutical companies. He asked the Engineer to research and produce a turboemulsifier for the research laboratory used by university students to conduct their tests.
Eng. Pizzirani, with the crucial collaboration of Mr. Franco Sarti – a technician with vast experience in the sector – hence built the first two prototypes that were delivered for testing.
The Professor recommended a few adjustments and the machines were then ready to be launched on the market. The DUMEK brand was born (which comes from the words “Due MECcanici” “Two MEChanics”). The first orders started to arrive and totalled a remarkable 30 machines in the first year alone!
In response to continuous market demand that highlighted the need for machines which could deal with increasingly higher volumes, DUMEK extended its range of turboemulsifiers to a remarkable 12 models, from small versions - with 5 litre capacity ideal for laboratories, up to the 2,000 litre versions for industrial processing and manufacturing.
Over this period DUMEK consolidated its presence in the primary sector of mixers and started an important rational and systematic industrial plan.
New ideas and the acquisition of electronic technology led the company to get its first patent relative to the creation of a software application for automatic control of machine operating cycles and the storing and reproduction of recipes.
DUMEK was a pioneer in this field and is still one of the forerunners today.
Today DUMEK is the leading company in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical process machine sector with over 3,000 units currently operational. Business is run from the headquarters in Bologna which houses the administration and sales offices, further to the production plant which designs, produces, assembles, tests and ships machines and products all over the world.
